Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic fulfils tasks in the area of public health resulting from membership of the Slovak Republic in the European Union (further "EU"), World Health Organization (further "WHO") and other international organizations (mainly Council of Europe, ECDC, UNO and other). At the same time authority fulfils the tasks resulting from bilateral agreements on cooperation in the area of public health.

Representatives of PHA SR are delegated deputies for specific areas in bodies of international institutions where they represent Slovak Republic and thus contributing with their expertise to increase health quality, strengthen diseases prevention and fight against health risks and health protection of EU citizens.

Cooperation also includes regular providing of required data for the area of public health to bodies and working groups at the European Commission, Council of Europe, World Health Organization, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and other international institutions.
